Rally Day 2019

August 25, 2018

Thank you to Amber, Patti, and the rest of the Faith Formation Ministry. The Lord blessed us with an almost perfect day for Rally Day festivities at Sanders Farm. Cloudy and cool, and although there was a chance of rain in the forecast, none fell during the celebration.

We started the morning in the sanctuary where Rev. Scott led us in worship and shared the story of Johah, Bibles were handed out to those students entering second grade, and the choir returned from their summer hiatus. We then adjourned to the farm for a lunch of grilled hamburgers and hot dogs and potluck side dishes and some wonderful fellowship while some of the children fished, batted balls, and swung golf clubs.  We concluded the day with short vesper service with group singing and the remaining piece of the story of Jonah.  We ended the day by singing “Blest Be The Tie That Binds.”

Isaiah 40:30-31
Though youths grow weary and tired, And vigorous young men stumble badly, Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.
