Rally Day 2018

August 19, 2018

Thank you to Amber, Patti, and the rest of the Faith Formation Ministry. The Lord blessed us with an almost perfect day for Rally Day festivities at Sanders Farm. Cloudy and overcast, not too hot, a little humid, but a nice breeze blowing through the pavilion most of the day.

We started the morning in the sanctuary where David led a short service, Bibles were handed out to the children present, and our Sunday school teachers were recognized. We then adjourned to the farm for a short continuation of the service and some group singing, ending with “How Great Thou Art” and “Blest Be the Tie That Binds”.

By the time that we finished singing, the burgers and hot dogs were off of the grill and on the picnic table, along with the accompanying items and the desserts that others had brought (Thank you for your contributions!).

Following a prayer, we dug into the picnic feast (YUM!) and then enjoyed an afternoon of fellowship while others took the opportunity to fish, swing, play outdoor games, and drive some golf balls. It was a most excellent Rally Day and a great way to rejuvenate and revitalize the congregation as we enter a new school year.

Isaiah 40:30-31
Though youths grow weary and tired, And vigorous young men stumble badly, Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.
