Prime Time Club.
Established in 1977, the Prime Time Club was formed to help meet the spiritual and fellowship needs of the older members of Central UCC. It is a group of church members over the age of 50 who enjoy fun, fellowship, learning, and mission.
Luncheons, speakers, special groups as guests, and devotionals have all been part of monthly meetings. Each person brings a covered dish and enjoys the scheduled activities. The club takes an offering which allows it to be self-supporting and to share with others.
Speakers have given programs about missionary trips, the orphan train, local missions, member vacations abroad, issues that might interest or affect members, the history of the town, the church, and its members, and charitable organizations.
The highlight of the year is the annual Thanksgiving luncheon prepared by the Elenor Circle during the November meeting. Bob Priddy provides a historical program and the members enjoy this wonderful meal.
Past activities have included trips to Arrow Rock, Eureka Springs to see the Passion Play and Carthage to the Precious Moments Chapel. Longer Trips included Colorado Springs, Garden of the Gods, Royal Gorge and Vail. We have also gone to Gettysburg, Monticello, Natural Bridge Williamsburg, Jamestown and Annapolis Naval Academy.
The Prime Time Club supports benevolences and church activities and remembers the homebound members of Central UCC and other friends with visits, flowers, or other gifts. Members take carnations to all homebound members at Christmas. They deliver Meals on Wheels twice each year and support the Central Emmaus Home. They visit Heisinger to help residents celebrate their birthdays
