Mission & Outreach

Mission has always been taken seriously at Central Church. Our roots are deeply planted in mission – it is what gives meaning to the church and we feel answers God’s call to be the servant church.  There are any number of ways folks at Central Church may become involved in reaching out to others.

As far back as the 1700s, our denomination was one of the first Protestant denominations to widen its scope to overseas mission. In partnership with our denomination, the United Church of Christ, we support various forms of ministry in over 80 foreign countries. This comes in the form of evangelism as well as humanitarian relief and a better quality of life for those who face injustice and poverty on a daily basis.

Central Church members have been involved in rebuilding and relief work within Missouri and the Southeast. We support various mission and social action agencies within inner cities.

Central Church provides support financially and with in-kind goods and volunteer services to various local agencies that help those in need. Some examples of activities we are involved in are: monthly canned good drives, preparing and serving meals at the Salvation Army, delivering Meals on Wheels, participating in Habitat for Humanity projects, and providing monetary support to the Rape and Abuse Crisis Service and the Samaritan Center.

We Support These Organizations Through Special Offerings

Rape & Abuse Crisis Service
RACSJefferson City Rape & Abuse Crisis Service provides direct services to persons who are victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and/or stalking. Toward that end, shelter services are offered to provide physical safety and to facilitate services for those victims of abuse.
Samaritan Center
